Join me for a whānau-friendly fungi walk through Kirk’s Bush as part of EcoFest.
This is a chance to step into the ngahere and explore the remarkable world of fungi in a simple, curious, hands-on way. We’ll be looking more closely at the fungi growing around us and talking about the role they play in forest ecosystems — from breaking down organic matter to supporting the life of the bush in ways we often don’t notice.
This event is designed to be approachable for all ages. You do not need any prior knowledge, just a bit of curiosity and a readiness to look carefully at the natural world.
When: Wednesday 8 April 2026, 1:00–2:00 pm
Where: Kirk’s Bush, Great South Road, Rosehill
Cost: Free
Come along to discover the small but important life forms helping a forest thrive.
You can also pre-order mushroom-growing kits or bundles so you can have some ‘shrooms to eat!
